Verbal reasoning test: free practice

A verbal reasoning test gives you a short passage and some statements about it. For each one you decide whether the passage shows it’s true, shows it’s false, or doesn’t say enough to tell. It checks how carefully you read, not what you already know.

Tips for the real one

  • Use only what the passage says. What you know from elsewhere doesn’t count.
  • Cannot say means the passage doesn’t settle it either way. It isn’t a guess for when you’re unsure.
  • Watch for words like all, every, only and never: one exception makes them false.

Who uses them

Deloitte, Unilever, UBS and AtkinsRéalis all say on their own pages that their application process includes one. Real ones are usually longer, and many are timed. The firm’s invite tells you which test it uses, and how long you get.

These questions are Apprenza’s own, written in the same style. They aren’t any employer’s or test provider’s real questions.
