Behaviour games: free practice

Four practice games in the style of Arctic Shores, the game-based assessment many accountancy, engineering and law firms send after you apply. Play any of them on its own, or sit all four as one assessment. Each ends with what the game was really looking for.

Tips for the real one

  • Use a laptop or desktop, somewhere quiet. The real ones are built for a keyboard and mouse too.
  • Read every instruction screen. Rules change part-way through, and the change is always explained first.
  • Some games can’t be finished on purpose. They look at how you keep going, so don’t rush to quit.
  • There’s no right personality. Play the way you would at work rather than the way you think they want.

Who uses them

Airbus, BAE Systems, BDO, EDF, National Grid, Norton Rose Fulbright, Sage and WSP all say on their own pages that their application process includes a game-based assessment. The firm’s invite tells you which one, and how long you have to finish it.

The setup follows the real thing, but every game, rule and line of text is Apprenza’s own. It isn’t made by or linked to Arctic Shores, and the report is a practice estimate rather than a comparison with other candidates.
